It’s been a while since I last wrote a blog, and that’s because I’ve not been feeling so great.
I TOOK TOO MUCH ON AGAIN.
And it made me pretty unwell.
I noticed that I no longer wanted to do a lot of my hobbies. I wasn’t making inspiring lessons. I was cancelling on people left, right and centre. And filling the void with carbs.
I DECIDED I WASN’T GOING TO CONTINUE LIKE THIS.
I ACTED ON THIS.
And normally I wouldn’t have! I would have suffered in silence and continued on, getting more and more unwell as time went on.
So how did I do it? I thinned out my responsiblities. It made me horribly anxious to do it, but I did and I feel better now. I asked for breathing space at work, and made some simple requests that would help me a lot, like which days I wanted to work. I stopped working at a decent hour every night and went to bed to read and relax.
All in all, it all boils down to self-care.
Self-care is the act of making changes or doing activities that benefit us in the long run. Sometimes it is doing fun things that make us happy. And sometimes it is adulting – like doing a big shop or paying a bill.
If you haven’t already noticed… I’m massively into this “self-care” thing and I want everyone else to be too! So for starters, there’s the tiny self care kit to start you off…
…and stay tuned for more information on my Self Care challenge that I’m inviting everyone to get involved with in January. It’s nice and easy, small challenges to do each day, and of course, you don’t have to do all days!
